I'm going on now my third week of debilitating illness. My dr. told me it was a sinus infection, but after finishing my second round of antibios with little change, I have to wonder if that's correct. I'm going back to her tomorrow for another diagnosis. And more medicine.
Being sick like this again, aside from being a major pain in my ass, effing up my b-day month, getting in the way of my work and life in general, is really stressing me out. After The Great Crap-Up that was 2007, I get really anxious whenever I get sick because I don't want to go through all of that again. There's for sure no such thing as karma. I've figured that out.
Oh well.

Maybe its not bacterial, but a virus that you will have to wait for it to run its course. Which sucks!
Sorry that you can't get over this thing. Do you constantly have a headache/pressure? Ask the dr. for some good pain medicine. That will take the edge off.
Hope your weekend gets better!
You know I'm wishing you better health and greater cheer...
Could it be an allergy?
Actually, the failure to clear based on two rounds of antibiotics doesn't mean a thing as to the cause of the infection. Viral infections don't usually last this long; I'm sure what your Doc said is that you've had so many infections, taken so many antibiotics that your little invaders are super-tough and resistant. In fact, I know folks who've been through this cycle so much that NO antibiotics work for them in which case they have to do yucky things to make sure you don't get infections... I think they usually draw the line at 4 or so infections per year. Or failure to respond to antibiotics...
