Now, what could that mean?

Not much going on right now, but I did see two squirrels having sex in a tree yesterday. It seems noteworthy.

I look forward with some trepidation to work tomorrow because, I swear to you, all over the library were these signs that read, "On Thursday, March 26th, the fire alarms will sound from 9-5. We apologize for the inconvenience." That surely does not mean what I think it means. Does it?

I think that fire alarms sounding continuously from 9 am to 5 pm represents something far greater than an inconvenience and would likely fall into some OSHA category that would require the library to close to protect the employees' tender ear tissues. So I'm thinkin' its not going to be all day bells a' ringin'. Let me know if I'm wrong, though...

Squirrels having sex in a tree... so much to think about... saying that they were "having sex" suggests to me they might have made the decision to do so for pleasure; do you think that's so? Otherwise, I think its just mating. What do you think? I think its very clear I don't have much to do right now.

Ta-Ta.

KHM, it was filthy. Having sex implies a tenderness that was not in attendance. It was beyond mating. These squirrels were hedonists. Like the Caligulas of the rodent world.

Kelly, prepare for the aural ride of your life.

Two squirrels in a tree!! Only you Special "K"...now high up in the tree were they? If they we pretty low, it was just a couple squirrels messing around, now if they were about 1/2 the way up the tree it gets a little bit more serious, now if they were way up high...now then you are talking SEX!!! (Hope you didn't hurt your neck looking up!) And also did they throw anything at you? Remember where that tree is at for our next visit to the north lands! Gotta go, have a little boy waking up from his nap!

Caitlin: thanks for the clarification. Not sex, not mating, some kind of lust-crazed, wanton coupling that only squirrels in trees and certain zoologist fully comprehend. Thanks. Is there a reference for that?

K, what was up with the ringing today?

Oddly enough, there were no fire alarms. It was all an elaborate rouse, apparently.

I can tell you from 5 years, we'd be lucky to only endure ONE day of 9-to-5 sirens and flashing lights. We had multiple days (three, I believe) in my finals days in Serials. It was the worst working conditions I've ever endured... and I've literally shoveled manure.

However, the fire dept. canceled yesterday, so look forward to a day of pure hell... coming soon!
