amigurimi

Lately I've been amusing myself by making amigurumi, which means "tiny cute thing made of yard" in Japanese. Think I'm joking? So far I've made a Humpty Dumpty, a robot, a carrot, a rabbit and an apple. Cute, huh? If you want to give it a try, here are some patterns. I didn't use a pattern for these, I just got started, and then the creature emerged from the yarn.

You're funny! I use Ravelry, an online resource for managing knit/crochet/spinning projects and interacting with others....one of the features allows folks to post photos and discuss their projects. You wouldn't BELIEVE all the really cute amigurimi to be found there. Really. Check it out.

Tangentially, I saw these knitted mitts called "stigmattens"---knitted mitts with stigamata wounds in the palms. Hilarious. I think I want them. I'll see if I can lift a photo to show you.
