Giants Win! (I like the Giants)

We had a really fun Superbowl party tonight - everyone was rooting for the Giants after it was explained that they are:
1. Not the Patriots
2. The Patriots are big jerks

I learned some really interesting stuff like after 9/11 the Patriots won the Superbowl on accounta some lame calls because they were like Team America or something. And also, that there are these two brothers, Mannings, and their dad was a football player too or something, and that he only dated really athletic women so his kids would be great football players. That's all supposed to be true.

So, because I am my father's daughter, I will now give you a wrap up of the end of the game: The best bit was definitely when that one guy caught the ball on top of his head and then held on to it even though he was being tackled like a pro-wrestler across someone's knee! And then, the Giants made a touchdown, and then, with something like 35 seconds left, the Patriots tried to make a touchdown, but, too bad, they couldn't do it. I think the Giants caught their super-long pass. And then, for some reason, the time was 01, then it was 00, then it was 02, then 01, then 00, then 01...00...01...00, and then everyone was starting to run on the field, then they dumped the gatoraide, then they cleared the field and stood there for ONE second, then they mobbed the field again, then a guy named something strange cried. I liked that part.

It was very exciting.

The guy's funny name was Plaxico Burress and your sister shed a tear when he started crying even. She already knew all of the reasons to hate the Patriots and was doing a great job of rooting against them going as far as guaranteeing a Giants victory in the 1st quarter. I'm currently going around all of my internet communities and talking as much smack as possible.

What kind of food did you have? I missed out on the usual Superbowl junk food.

Andy and I watched the game by ourselves. but had a great time. And it is the second time I have actually watched the entire Superbowl (last year of course was No. 1). Plaxico's show of emotion also made me get verklempt. I love football drama! Now, I only wish I could have seen Eli and Peyton hugging and crying. Did anyone see that? Or did Peyton try to stay out of the limelight?

Nice write-up, K. I didn't watch the game myself but now i feel like I was right there.

From unnamed parties at our house, apparently Plaxico has a nice ass. So we were too busy with that to get all choked up.

Foodwise: It was a dip paradise. 7 layer dip, guacamole, chili-cheese dip. Many bags of corn chips. meatballs. Vegetarian pigs'n'blankets (made with smart dogs). mini chocolate eclairs.

Other unnamed parties tried to convince me that a pig'n'blanket was a chocolate eclair, but I was not fooled. Really people, its like you aren't even trying.

The Giants win the pennant! THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNANT!

That was a *super* party indeed. The 7-layer dip was awesome, the pigsinnablanket were great, and G-Zim's chili-cheese sauce was amazing for some instant nacho-making.

And then the game was actually fun, too! I never thought I'd cheer for a NYC team, but I sure did. Yay NY Giants!

I can't believe I missed the nice ass on Plaxico. Dammit. Rob didn't tell me, either.

cripes, how did I forget to mention the cheetos? For me thats the whole reason to have a party.

For the record, I didn't say Plaxico's butt was nice, I just said it was notable.
I'm not really a butt person, but that was a butt. Or a butt plus. Or something.

You know you wanted that pig'n'clair.

My daughter, the football fan, glad to hear that you had a Giants t-shirt for the game(same sport?).But what a game, I thought it was great from the singing of our National Anthem to the end of the game (with 1 sec. to go!) And who was that lady with Peyton in that suite? I am also so happy for the Budweiser horse that will be pulling the wagon on next years team. What an off season work out! I also remember some of those songs when I was "younger" that Tom Petty sang, wasn't he just wonderful? (I'm not so sure!) I'm also positive that the lady that sucked the kids balloon out of the sky helped hold the football onto the helmet in that unbelieveable catch by Giants receiver David Tyree, and one more thing, who would name their kid, Plaxico? I forgot, one more thing, Mike, I didn't know you liked Cheetos'! There my favorite!...That was quite a wrap-up on the game Kelly.(For WCBK Sports, this Kelly Roark reporting)

Hey--I didn't hear much about Petty's performance; how was it? I think me and Rob are going to catch him on his summer tour this year with Steve Winwood. You know what they say----"the waiting is the hardest part". Also, "anything that's rock and roll is fine". Want more Pettyisms? I love that guy.

"oh my my, oh hell yes. You got to put on that party dress."

We all thought Petty and the Heartbreakers were awesome! He looked great and sounded terrific. Gave me an urge to listen to dig out any Petty music we have laying around... must get to that...

crimony. I can fix that.

I thought Petty was fine but there should've been more pyro or laser lights or something. I mean, you hire Tom Petty you're going to get an old guy playing guitar and singing his songs, he's not going to dance around and pretend that his guitar is his schlong like Prince did.

And I'm willing to bet there were more hot young girls in the fake audience around the stage watching Tom Petty perform than there has been in the past fifteen years collectively.

whaddya trying to say about Petty, Lyman? Spit it out!

You know what word doesn't get used enough on my blog? shlong. Thanks, Lyman!

Yeah, good point about the fraudience, we also were wondering about that hand-picked crew of large breasted, tank-topped, white, blonde women.

Kathy said...

All of us members of the Tom Petty fan club are large breasted, white, blond women. Its required. Sorry, K.

Don't get me wrong, I love Tom Petty. That's my whole point. Judging from the sports blogs and stuff I read not many people liked his show, the producers should've helped him out some more to appeal to such a wide audience of people.

i'm very persuasive.
